Depuis trois d\u00e9cennies, sa pratique picturale embrasse tous les modes de repr\u00e9sentation \u2013 abstraction ou hyperr\u00e9alisme, objets du quotidien magnifi\u00e9s ou autoportrait introspectif \u2013 et colonise tous les supports, semblant s&rsquo;\u00eatre donn\u00e9 pour principe une mise \u00e0 nu m\u00e9thodique de tout reste de r\u00e9v\u00e9rence dont pourrait encore \u00eatre affect\u00e9e la v\u00e9n\u00e9rable peinture. Il n&rsquo;est pas, \u00e0 proprement parler, question de d\u00e9construction. Car l&rsquo;ancienne chanteuse du groupe post-punk Lucrate Milk proc\u00e8de par collage et r\u00e9appropriation, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant ajouter que retrancher, et ne disloque que pour mieux donner \u00e0 voir.<\/p>\n<p>Un voir souvent \u00e9minemment th\u00e9\u00e2tral, comme en t\u00e9moigne, au centre d&rsquo;art La Halle des Bouchers, inaugur\u00e9 enmars 2014, <em>Jazy, Hedy &amp; Sissi<\/em>. Premi\u00e8re exposition monographique \u00e0 en investir les murs, la proposition pr\u00e9sente des \u0153uvres r\u00e9centes r\u00e9alis\u00e9es en 2010 et 2014. Dans l&rsquo;espace vo\u00fbt\u00e9, de grands rideaux de papier vert et des barres en bois peintes en rose scandent l&rsquo;espace. D&#8217;embl\u00e9e, le spectateur est plac\u00e9 sur sc\u00e8ne, immerg\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;espace de la repr\u00e9sentation. La peinture est d\u00e9cor autant que costume\u00a0: des modules en bois \u00e0 \u00e9chelle humaine pos\u00e9s au sol et perc\u00e9s de trois orifices invitent \u00e0 y passer bras et t\u00eate, une invitation au travestissement carnavalesque qui ne manque pas, en demi-teinte, d&rsquo;\u00e9veiller aussi des \u00e9vocations de carcan et d&rsquo;arsenal r\u00e9pressif. Comme souvent chez Nina Childress, le motif est gros de fant\u00f4mes. \u00c0 ces trois structures en r\u00e9pondent trois autres, reprenant \u00e0 l&rsquo;huile sur toile le m\u00eame motif abstrait\u00a0: une sorte de rencontre fortuite des costumes de sc\u00e8ne con\u00e7us par Sonia Delaunay dans les ann\u00e9es 1920 et du graphisme 3D \u00e0 base de triangles vectoris\u00e9s populaire au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Cette installation, <em>Le Triangle des Carpathes<\/em>, est embl\u00e9matique de sa pratique r\u00e9cente. Par-del\u00e0 les ruptures stylistiques se dessine le th\u00e8me du vide de l&rsquo;image\u00a0: \u00e9puis\u00e9e par sa repr\u00e9sentation, celle-ci ne subsiste que sous la forme d&rsquo;un dispositif de monstration. Si elle ne diff\u00e8re pas du d\u00e9cor, la peinture perd en illusion ce qu&rsquo;elle gagne en pr\u00e9sence, invitant \u00e0 \u00eatre investie et perform\u00e9e. Autre dispositif cl\u00e9, le triptyque qui donne son nom \u00e0 l&rsquo;exposition, <em>Jazy,<\/em> <em>Grande statue de bronze [Sissi]<\/em> et <em>Hedy<\/em>. Trois huiles sur toiles,respectivement d\u00e9volues au sportif Michel Jazy, \u00e0 l&rsquo;imp\u00e9ratrice Sissi et \u00e0 l&rsquo;actrice Hedy Lamar, se dressent en demi-cercle dans la crypte vo\u00fbt\u00e9e du centre d&rsquo;art.
